Applies to: This instruction applies to all Dover Air Force Base (DAFB) host and tenant units (i.e. 436 AW, 512 AW, AFMES, JPED, etc) that store, transport, handle, or utilize explosives in the performance of their assigned mission.
All explosives operations will be conducted in accordance with written instructions.
Transportation of explosives, both on and off-base, requires training and certification, proper equipment and vehicles, use of explosive transport routes, and proper notification procedures.
HD 1.1 and 1.2 explosives will not be transported on Atlantic and Paris Street unless coordinated through 436 AW/SEW.
Pre-task Safety Briefings will be given to all personnel who will be involved in explosive handling or transport operations.
Non-mission essential personnel shall not be permitted along Perimeter Road (e.g. no jogging, walking, biking, hunting, etc.) within the explosive clear zones located between jogging turnaround points on the northwest and northeast side of the installation.
