The publication addresses deviations, waivers, exemptions, explosive site plans, weapons safety monitoring, fireworks, training sites, and munitions transportation. It establishes coordination, approval, inspection, documentation, storage, weather, vehicle, and notification requirements.
Applies to: This manual applies to all Regular Air Force, Air Force Reserve, and Air National Guard units that are tenants on Whiteman Air Force Bases.
All deviation requests will be coordinated through the weapons safety office for review and concurrence prior to commander’s approval.
Include copies of operating instructions that will be used to manage deviations.
Unit Additional Duty Weapons Safety Representatives (ADWSR) are responsible for monitoring personnel (supervisory and non-supervisory) within their organization who operate, handle, transport, maintain, load, or dispose of missiles or explosives to ensure that they are properly trained and comply with the provisions of this manual.
The designated inspection area is Gate 14. Munitions shipments, except authorized commercial mail carriers, will be received at this area for initial inspection and acceptance on base.
Storage of contractor fireworks is not allowed on Whiteman AFB. Fireworks will arrive no sooner than the day of the scheduled display, and all residue and unused items must be removed from the installation immediately following the completion of the fireworks display.
