DAFPD10-7 addresses IO governance, management, planning, execution, and organizational roles for the covered capabilities. It requires IO integration across military strategy, operations, training, communications, systems development, and education, and limits information operations to the appropriate approval authority.
Applies to: This publication applies to civilian employees of the Department of the Air Force (DAF) and uniformed members of the United States Space Force, Regular Air Force, the Air Force Reserve, the Air National Guard, and contractor personnel except where noted otherwise.
COMSEC monitoring will be conducted only by organizations authorized to execute COMSEC monitoring missions. (paragraph 1)
IO and aforementioned included capabilities will reside together in the operations and/or plans element of an organization. (paragraph 1)
For those organizations with no traditional operations or plans element, the commander or director shall determine the most logical element to place IO activities. (paragraph 1)
Planners will support combatant and component commanders to gain and maintain an information advantage and achieve the commander’s desired operational objectives and effects. (paragraph 2)
Only conduct information operations within the appropriate approval authority. (paragraph 2)
