The manual updates special working symbols used by the Department of the Air Force within the Department of Defense. It includes changes to existing codes, new projects within appropriations, and new appropriations.
Applies to: This manual applies to the Regular Air Force (RegAF), the United States Space Force (USSF), Air Force Reserve (AFR), Air National Guard (ANG) and the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) when performing Department of the Air Force (DAF) assigned missions in its role as a volunteer civilian auxiliary of the DAF.
The purpose of this manual is to provide guidance on using current (Fiscal Year [FY] 2026 Appropriations Acts) symbols and budget codes and their descriptions.
As an annual publication, it updates all special working symbols the Department of the Air Force (DAF) uses within the Department of Defense (DoD) for each FY. (paragraph 65-604)
