The AF Form 3994 is used to initiate, process, and approve a valor decoration. (paragraph 1-2)
To strengthen the nomination, the following documents may be included in an award nomination package. (paragraph 1-2)
Recommendations must be appropriately justified and sufficiently detailed. (paragraph 3)
In cases where decorations are recommended or presented to other members in the same combat action for which the nominee is be recognized, obtain and include copies of the citation in the recommendation package. (paragraph 5)
Expedites processing, ensuring the recommendation is processed within 20 days of receipt at the command. (T-1). (paragraph 2)
