Applies to: The provisions of this instruction are directive in nature and apply to all assigned/attached units and Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard personnel.
Runway 26 shall be the runway in use whenever the prevailing wind speed is less than 5 knots regardless of wind direction. (paragraph 7)
The tower watch supervisor may designate a runway in use other than that favored by the prevailing wind when an operational advantage will be gained. (paragraph 7)
Pilot requests for opposite direction operations will be approved on a workload- permitting basis. (paragraph 7)
Simultaneous runway operations are not authorized at Ramstein AB. (paragraph 7)
Pilots may deviate from the procedures contained herein in the interest of flight safety or when directed by Langen Air Control Center (ACC), Ramstein Ground Controlled Approach (GCA), Ramstein Tower, or other competent authority.
