It establishes life-cycle guidance and procedures for managing STINFO and technical documents. It addresses marking, classification, controlled information, public release, repositories, and organizational duties.
DAF personnel will appropriately mark all technical documents, resulting from RDT&E and operations and maintenance efforts with distribution statements, regardless of the medium used to convey the information IAW DoDI 5230.24. (T-1). (paragraph 61-2)
The DAF withholds from public disclosure all unclassified export-controlled technical data with a military or space application that may not be exported lawfully without approval, authorization, and or license IAW 10 USC 130 and DoDD 5230.25. (paragraph 61-2)
Technical information can be classified, Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), or publicly releasable. (paragraph 61-2)
Program progress and results are sent to the Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC) or other DoD-approved repositories for cataloging, storage, and dissemination. (paragraph 61-2)
