Applies to: This instruction applies to all civilian employees, uniformed members of the Regular Air Force (RegAF), the United States Space Force (USSF), the Air Force Reserve (AFR) and the Air National Guard (ANG) personnel, except where noted otherwise.
Use this publication to prepare issue, reissue, account for, and dispose of the CAC of the Uniformed Services, Department of Defense Components and other eligible recipients.
Waivers to this instruction are authorized and shall be processed IAW DAFMAN 90-161.
Vigilance must be taken to protect Personally Identifying Information when submitting or sending nominations, applications or other documents to DoD agencies through government Internet, software applications, systems, e-mail, postal, faxing or scanning. (paragraph 90-161)
