The publication identifies no hat–no salute areas and addresses protective equipment, OCP coats, morale undershirts, cold-weather outerwear, watch caps, and flightline badges. It requires compliance with specified wear conditions and prohibits unauthorized outerwear unless a waiver is granted or approved.
Applies to: This publication applies to all units on Kirtland Air Force Base (KAFB), including attached and associate units as depicted in host tenant support agreements.
The omission of a specific item or appearance standard does not automatically permit its wear.
The OCP coat may be removed in the immediate work area as determined appropriate by local leadership. However, the OCP coat will be worn while interacting with customers/clients.
Morale Undershirts are authorized for wear on Friday, as established by the unit commander under the guidelines of their respective wing commander.
Commercial cold-weather outerwear that does not comply with the standards outlined in DAFI 36-2903 are not permitted, even if issued by prior commanders.
The installation commander authorizes watch caps for wear when worn with outer garments, service dress, Physical Training Gear (PTG), and may be worn on the flightline IAW DAFI36-2903, Paragraphs 7.2.7 through 7.2.7.3. However, watch caps may only be worn between 1 October and 31 March.
