DAFI36-129 addresses appointing authorities, supervisor responsibilities, merit system principles, prohibited personnel practices, civilian personnel servicing, and personnel records. It also covers civilian personnel resources and non-programmed deployment programs, and requires compliance with prescribed records processes.
Applies to: This Department of the Air Force Instruction (DAFI) applies to Title 5 and Title 10 USC, Department of the Air Force (DAF), to include Space Force, civilian employees.
The authorities to waive wing, unit, and or delta level requirements in this publication are identified with a Tier (“T-0, T-1, T-2, T-3”) number following the compliance statement.
Submit requests for waivers through the chain of command to the appropriate Tier waiver approval authority, or alternately, to the requestor’s commander for non-tiered compliance items.
Ensure all records generated as a result of processes prescribed in this publication adhere to Air Force Instruction 33-322, Records Management and Information Governance Program, and are disposed in accordance with the Air Force Records Disposition Schedule, which is located in the Air Force Records Information Management System.
FLDCOMs must work with Space Force S1C regarding any supplements.
