DAFI10-2503 establishes CBRN defense education, survival courses, supplemental courses, and student requirements. It requires specified training, protective equipment, fit testing, uniforms, and course completion timelines.
Applies to: This guidance is applicable to all DAF civilian employees and uniformed members of the Regular Air Force (RegAF), Air Reserve Component (ARC) (Air Force Reserve [AFR] and Air National Guard [ANG]), United States Space Force (USSF), and those with who are contractually obligated to comply with DAF publications.
AF military members are required to complete this training every 24 months (48 months for ARC) based on the member’s AFFORGEN/SPAFORGEN readiness category. (paragraph 1)
DAF military members tasked to deploy will complete CBRN Defense Survival Skills Course as a pre-deployment requirement. (paragraph 1)
Students will provide a copy of their approved protective mask fit test to their unit deployment manager, unit training manager, or course scheduler prior to being scheduled for the CBRN Defense Survival instructor-led course. (paragraph 1)
Students will remove hairpieces or hairstyles that interfere with the proper sizing, fit, and wear of the protective mask. (paragraph 3)
Military members will wear an approved duty uniform. (paragraph 4)
