It provides guidance for maintaining continuity across potential emergencies and requires subordinate organizations to establish and maintain a COOP program and publish a COOP plan. It also addresses key personnel location and availability reporting, alternates, waivers, and mandatory compliance with attachments.
Applies to: It is applicable to Headquarters, Air Force Materiel Command (HQ AFMC) and its subordinate organizations, requiring they establish and maintain a COOP program and publish a COOP plan.
Subordinate organizations may supplement this instruction.
Compliance with attachments 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 in this publication is mandatory.
The authorities to waive wing/delta/unit-level requirements in this publication are identified with a Tier (“T-0, T-1, T-2, T-3”) number following the compliance statement.
Submit requests for waivers via DAF Form 679, Department of the Air Force Publication Compliance Item Waiver Request/Approval, through the chain of command to the appropriate Tier waiver approval authority, or alternately, to the Publication OPR for non-tiered compliance items.
