CFETPRI9S100 governs training requirements, progression, qualification, and course development for the Scientific Applications Specialist reporting identifier.

It covers initial, qualification, and modular training, including entry requirements, duty-position qualification, OJT, and training status codes. It also establishes measurement standards, proficiency levels, course objectives, and training resources for RI 9S100.
The plan will be used by MFMs and supervisors at all levels to ensure comprehensive and cohesive training programs are available for everyone in the RI.
Each individual will complete the mandatory training requirements specified in this plan.
Completion of high school or high school equivalency is mandatory for entry into this RI.
Completion of the Scientific Applications Fundamentals qualification course and at least one RI-awarding follow-on modular course (Geophysical Systems Maintenance, Applied Data Analysis, Special Equipment Maintenance, Geophysical Data Analysis) are mandatory for award of the RI.
Because of this, 9S100 personnel will be entered into TSC “R” while completing qualification training. (paragraph 9)
