It covers competency-based training, skill-level progression, specialty qualification requirements, training courses, and resource constraints. It requires mandatory training for each individual and defines initial, upgrade, qualification, and proficiency training.
Applies to: The plan will be used by MAJCOM FMs, Base Training Managers (BTMs), Base Functional Managers (BFMs), and supervisors at all levels to ensure comprehensive and cohesive training programs are available for each individual in the specialty.
The CFETP consists of two parts. Supervisors will use both parts to plan, manage, and control training. (paragraph 2)
Each individual will complete the mandatory training requirements specified in this plan. (paragraph 5)
Individuals are awarded their 3-skill level upon completion of Initial Skills Training (technical school). (paragraph 8)
Upon arrival at their first duty location, individuals must complete formal 5-level OJT training requirements as defined in this CFETP, AFI 36-2650, DAFMAN 36-2689, the DAFECD, and MAJCOM or work-center-identified upgrade competencies. (paragraph 8)
Completion of the Supervisor AFJQS is mandatory for upgrade to 7-level. (paragraph 8)
