It covers specialized cargo, shipping and receiving, travel, passenger accounts, pet transportation, and cargo movement to geographically separated units. The instruction requires trained and certified personnel, written appointments, appropriate security clearances, and accurate shipping documents for AA&E cargo.
Applies to: This instruction applies to all units located on and/or supported by Aviano Air Base requesting support from 31st Logistics Readiness Squadron, involved in the shipping and receiving of cargo and routing passengers for official travel.
Personnel who handle, process, receipt, and ship Arms, Ammunition, and Explosives (AA&E), assets must be properly trained and certified in accordance with the Career Field Education and Training Plan (CFETP)/AF Form 797, Job Qualification Standard Continuation/Command JQS, and local training standards.
Personnel authorized to process, ship, and receive AA&E, cargo must be appointed in writing by the Commander.
Only personnel who are trained and have the appropriate security clearance will be authorized to handle these assets.
Assets must be properly identified on the shipping documents (DD Form 1348-1A, Issue Release/Receipt Document, and/or DD Form 1149, Requisition and Invoice/Shipping Document).
Ensure that all records created as a result of processes prescribed in this publication are maintained in accordance with (IAW) Air Force Manual (AFMAN) 33-363, Management of Records, and disposed of IAW Air Force Records Information Management System (AFRIMS) Records Disposition Schedule (RDS).
