AUI36-2621 covers Air University research oversight, institutional research processes, research sponsorship, and outreach through publication, posting, and presentation. It requires security and policy review for research products intended for public release and sets standards for student research posting and publication.
Applies to: This publication applies to all AU organizations that conduct research and publish their findings.
The quarterly review will include each AU school’s recent research accomplishments, as well as the current status of ongoing research programs; to include the Research Task Forces and any externally tasked research. (paragraph 2)
In recognition of the imperative for research and problem solving expressed in the AU Strategic Plan and USAF Strategic Master Plan, ensure that faculty, staff, and student researchers have adequate time and resources to perform studies on topics of importance to the USAF and DoD. (paragraph 2)
SPR is required for all research products for public release. (paragraph 2)
Each AU school will determine its own standards for the posting of student research products. (paragraph 2)
Student research that does not meet standards for public posting may be posted in nonpublic research databases or retained by the school. (paragraph 2)
