Applies to: This instruction applies to Air Mobility Command (AMC) Regular Air Force squadrons, operating locations, and detachments assigned or attached to the 515th and 521st Air Mobility Operations Wings (AMOW).
The purpose of the Air Force Mishap Prevention Program is to minimize the loss of Air Force resources and protect Air Force personnel from death, injuries or occupational illnesses by managing risks on and off-duty. (paragraph 1)
Perform annual on-site safety visits on each squadron. (paragraph 2)
SAVs will not be conducted within 90 days prior to a scheduled assessment. (paragraph 91-202)
Training should be conducted prior to arrival at the assigned unit, but not later than (NLT) 30 days after assignment or conduct virtual orientations in lieu of an in-person orientation where it is not feasible to be in-person due to scheduling conflicts, travel restrictions, or for enroute locations with high turnover rates such as expeditionary mobility units. Enroute units are accountable for mishaps involving personnel and equipment assigned to the respective squadron or staff and will be listed as the accountable organization in AFSAS. (paragraph 91-202)
