The 42nd Cyberspace Operations Squadron provides ready citizen Airmen to Cyber Protection Teams to operate and defend the Department of Defense Information Networks. (paragraph 1)
Unit is designed to defend critical cyber resources for national, Combatant Command and Service capabilities to execute four operational mission types: Department of Defense Information Networks, Combatant Command, Air Force Service, and National. (paragraph 1)
Reports to the Commander of their assigned 960th Cyberspace Operations Group. (paragraph 2)
Exercises administrative control over assigned personnel. (paragraph 2)
