To provide weather reconnaissance aircraft and crews, command and control, and support equipment/personnel capabilities in support of combatant commander requirements. (paragraph 1)
Conduct 24-hour reconnaissance operations of mesoscale atmospheric systems from three locations simultaneously (up to five sorties per day). (paragraph 1)
Conduct 24-hour reconnaissance operations of synoptic atmospheric systems from two locations simultaneously (up to four sorties per day). (paragraph 1)
Unit is capable of conducting operations from main operating base, forward operating site, cooperative security location, or contingency location. (paragraph 1)
Reports to the 403rd Operations Group Commander. (paragraph 2)
