The AFRC Contingency Response Squadrons/Flights are responsible for planning, coordinating, and participating in Major Command, service, joint and combined exercises, and execute contingency and humanitarian assistance/disaster relief operations. (paragraph 1)
AFRC Contingency Response units are a rapid response organic capability that provides initial airbase opening capability and operations, bridge the gap between seizure forces and the follow-on combat or expeditionary combat support forces when required, extend the global mobility en-route system, jointly open ports, and operate worldwide where little or no air operations support exists. (paragraph 1)
Mission areas include airfield operations, command/control/ communications, aerial port services, joint airload planning instruction, enroute maintenance, security, weather, and intelligence at airfields/landing zones. (paragraph 1)
Reports to the Commander of their assigned Operations Group when assigned to a Wing organization or will report to the Commander of a Contingency Response Group when assigned. (paragraph 2)
Exercises administrative control over assigned personnel. (paragraph 2)
