Applies to: In addition, large Sport Utility Vehicles (SUV) and like vehicles operated by the DAF pose unique handling characteristics and is subject to this training.
In accordance with (IAW) Department of Defense Instruction (DoDI) 6055.04, DoD Motor Vehicle and Traffic Safety, the DoD Components will provide training to operators of government-owned full-size vans, stressing the unique handling characteristics of these vehicles. (paragraph 7)
Given lectures, demonstrations, hands-on driving session and a performance test, trainees will be able to perform operator’s inspection and complete the performance test with zero instructor assists. (paragraph 7)
Understand the safety precautions to be followed before-, during-, and after-operation of the full-size van. (paragraph 7)
Uses Attachments 2 and 4 as guides for vehicle inspection. (paragraph 7)
Conduct knowledge training with the trainee using the AFQTP. (paragraph 7)
