It establishes policy for war reserve materiel in support of national defense strategy and implements specified Department of Defense and joint instructions. It assigns roles, revises policy statements, and requires war reserve materiel readiness and status reporting.
Applies to: This publication applies to all civilian and regular Air Force personnel, members of the Air Force Reserve Command and Air National Guard units.
The Chief of Staff of the Air Force implements Air Force war reserve materiel policy. (paragraph 3)
The Deputy Chief of Staff, Logistics, Installations, and Mission Support (AF/A4) develops guidance for and manages Air Force war reserve materiel. (paragraph 3)
The Deputy Chief of Staff, Manpower, Personnel, and Services (AF/A1) develops guidance for and manages Air Force war reserve materiel food service (subsistence) and billeting capabilities. (paragraph 3)
The Air Force Surgeon General (AF/SG) develops guidance, establishes requirements, and provides resources to the Air Force medical service’s war reserve materiel program. (paragraph 3)
