It updates guidance on work control documents, technical data, depot field teams, and information received from air logistics complexes. It requires approved WCDs for programmed and temporary workloads and establishes processing and completion requirements for AFSC Form 173.
Applies to: MEMORAND FOR ALL AFSC & AIR LOGISTICS COMPLEX (ALC) UNITS
The WCD is an official and authorized document with technical data reference and will be developed for all programmed and temporary workloads. No work will be performed without an approved WCD to ensure a complete audit trail. (paragraph 5)
The WCD will be attached to the item throughout the production process or will be placed in a designated location for those items where attachment is not practical (Reference Table 2.1.). (paragraph 5)
All unpredictable AFSC Forms 173 will process through the MIS for approval. (paragraph 5)
The instructions provided below are the mandatory and basic requirements for completing a handscribed (pen and ink) AFSC Form 173. (paragraph 1-73)
When the electronic generated version of the AFSC Form 173 does not have blocks numbered and arranged as described above, local procedures should be developed to ensure essential elements are captured and accountability is maintained by the creation of a complete audit trail. (paragraph 1-73)
