It addresses weapons safety program management, explosive handling and transportation, storage locations, movement routes, vehicle inspections, placarding, and aircraft loaded with explosives. It requires pre-task safety briefings for personnel involved in explosive handling or transporting operations, with a stated exception.
Applies to: It applies to all activities and personnel assigned, deployed, or attached to AAFB.
Pre-task Safety Briefings will be given to all personnel involved in explosive handling or transporting operations (See Attachment 2). EXCEPTION: Personnel involved in issue or turn-in of small arms ammunition for normal base security/resource protection details. (paragraph 91-201)
Failure to perform pre-task safety briefing for explosives operations will be considered a major finding during announced/unannounced inspections. (paragraph 91-201)
The briefing itself will be filled out in written form and derived from checklist. (See Attachment 2). (paragraph 91-201)
The established primary and alternate routes will be used to transport Ammunition and Explosives (AE) to/from the Munitions Storage Area (MSA) and the flightline. (paragraph 91-201)
All explosives and/or ammunition (to include small arms) transported by surface vehicles will enter or exit AAFB via North Gate unless otherwise approved by 36 WG/SEW. (paragraph 91-201)
