Applies to: All provisions are directive in nature and apply to all organizations and personnel located on or within the jurisdictional limits of Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana.
All drivers operating a motor vehicle on Barksdale AFB must produce, upon request from 2 SFS personnel, all documents required by AFI 31-218(I) and meet all Louisiana insurance and safety inspection requirements, if applicable.
Refusal by vehicle operators to submit to the examination of their vehicle during randomly selected checks at Installation Access Points (Base Gates) may result in denial of base access and/or use of Barksdale AFB roadways and possible disciplinary action.
Refusal to take or complete tests to determine the presence of alcohol and/or drugs may result in denial of installation driving privileges or other administrative actions.
The Model LA-9000 Intoxilyzer, located in the patrolman’s office is used to administer chemical test of the breath to persons suspected of intoxicated driving.
Locally trained and certified SF members conduct field sobriety tests for probable cause to conduct chemical tests of a suspected intoxicated driver’s blood, breath or urine.
