It implements and extends materiel management guidance with command policy and procedures covering FIAR compliance, satellite operations, equipment waivers, protective masks, funding, and force activity designators. Compliance with the publication and its attachments is mandatory, and prescribed records must be maintained and disposed of according to applicable records requirements.
Applies to: This document applies to all civilian employees and uniformed members of the Regular Air Force (RegAF), Air Force Reserve (AFR), and Air National Guard (ANG).

Note: All contractor requirements contained within this Manual must be contained within the contract/grant/agreement to be enforceable.
Ensure all records created as a result of processes prescribed in this publication are maintained IAW AFI 33-322, Records Management and Information Governance Program, and disposed of IAW the Air Force Records Disposition Schedule located in the Air Force Records Information Management System. (paragraph 8-47)
All requests for waiver must be approved by the publication OPR prior to implementation.
