AFMAN14-402 establishes an overarching framework for organizing, training, and equipping intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance activities. It sets guidelines for operational requirements and intelligence qualification programs and contains 59 tiered compliance statements.
Applies to: This publication applies to all civilian employees and uniformed members of the Regular Air Force, the Air Force Reserve, and the Air National Guard.
Lead Command/Agent will define the method(s) by which Initial Qualification Training (IQT) is accomplished (T-1).
Conduct Intelligence Realistic Training Review Board(s) at least every other year to review training programs and tactics, techniques, and procedures for currency, applicability, compliance, and effectiveness in conjunction with applicable stakeholders.
Ensure units have access to validated and benchmarked training materials. Sponsor “best practices” exchanges to promote high quality training. Ensure units with similar missions have equivalent baseline training standards and evaluation procedures to promote uniformity.
