It covers AOC/OC organization, air tasking, air and missile defense, joint data networks, communications support, and operational processes. It includes requirements for normal and contingency operations and integrates command and control capabilities across geographic and global functional forces.
Applies to: This manual applies to all civilian and uniformed members of the Regular Air Force, Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard aligned to AOC/OC units.
Air Reserve Component (ARC) units may combine their local operating procedures with their aligned AOC/OC.
AOC/OC units may publish local operating procedures (see Chapter 10 for instructions) as a supplement to this Air Force Manual (AFMAN), as required.
Should AOC/OC structures or procedures differ from this AFMAN, the applicable command shall write a supplement describing their procedures (T-1).
Ensure all records generated as a result of processes prescribed in this publication adhere to Air Force Instruction (AFI) 33-322, Records Management and Information Governance Program, and are disposed in accordance with the Air Force Records Disposition Schedule, which is located in the Air Force Records Information Management System.
Waiver authority for requirements of this volume is in accordance with DAFMAN 90-161.
