AFMAN11-403 establishes aerospace physiology training courses, certification requirements, waiver procedures, and responsibilities for managing the program. It also addresses reduced oxygen breathing device training, hypoxia training oversight, and review of foreign nation aerospace physiology programs.
Applies to: This guidance is applicable to all civilian employees and uniformed members of the Regular Air Force, the Air Force Reserve, the Air National Guard, and those who are contractually obligated to comply with Department of the Air Force publications.
Compliance with this memorandum is mandatory. (paragraph 11-403)
AETC, as the Lead Command for the AP training program, sets policy and guidance in accordance with DAFPD 10-9, Lead Command/Lead Agent Designation and Responsibilities for United States Air Force Weapons System, Non-Weapon Systems, and Activities, and manages the AP training systems in accordance with AFI 10-217, Management of Air Force Operational Training and Undergraduate Aircrew Training Systems. Ensure that a 13HX certified in altitude chamber and/or ROBD operations are immediately available during the execution of altitude chamber and/or ROBD operations. (paragraph 11-403)
Individual Refresher Training extension waivers cannot be extended beyond eight months. (paragraph 11-403)
