The manual covers mission planning, normal operating procedures, formations, fuel requirements, weather and IFR, and low-altitude operations. Compliance with the manual is mandatory, and it prescribes procedures for T-38 operations.
Applies to: This manual prescribes standard procedures used by all pilots operating an Air Force T-38 aircraft and applies to all civilian employees and uniformed members of the Regular Air Force, the Air Force Reserve, and the Air National Guard flying the T-38.
Ensure all records generated as a result of processes prescribed in this publication adhere to Air Force Instruction 33-322, Records Management and Information Governance Program, and are disposed in accordance with the Air Force Records Disposition Schedule, which is located in the Air Force Records Information Management System.
Refer recommended changes and questions about this publication to the office of primary responsibility (OPR) using the Department of the Air Force Form 847, Recommendation for Change of Publication; route Department of the Air Force Forms 847 from the field through the Standardization and Evaluation functional chain.
Field units below Major Command level will coordinate copies of their supplements with their parent Major Command OPR prior to publication.
The authorities to waive wing/unit level requirements in this manual are identified with a Tier (“T-0, T-1, T-2, T-3”) number following the compliance statement.
Submit requests for waivers through the chain of command to the appropriate Tier waiver approval authority, or alternately, to the publication OPR for non-tiered compliance items.
