It covers general evaluation information, evaluation requirements, pilot and WSO evaluations, grading areas, flight evaluation criteria, and emergency procedures evaluations. It requires flight evaluators to conduct T-38 aircrew evaluations according to the publication and use its evaluation criteria for flight and emergency procedure evaluations.
Applies to: This manual prescribes standard procedures used by all pilots operating Air Force T-38 aircraft and applies to all Regular Air Force, Air Force Reserve, and the Air National Guard instructor pilots flying the T-38 but does not apply to members of the US Space Force.
Flight evaluators (FEs) will conduct all T-38 aircrew evaluations according to the provisions of this publication.
FEs will use the evaluation criteria contained in this publication for conducting flight and emergency procedure evaluations (EPE). (paragraph 2)
To ensure standard and objective evaluations, FEs must become thoroughly familiar with the prescribed evaluation criteria. (paragraph 2)
When available, FEs will use Data Transfer System information to reconstruct or evaluate the mission. (paragraph 2)
Unless specified, the examinee or FE may fly in any flight position or seat (to include chase) that will best enable the FE to conduct a thorough evaluation. (paragraph 2)
