It covers aircraft qualification, mission certification, continuation and proficiency training, upgrade training, training events, training tables, and training documentation. It requires applicable records to be maintained and disposed of in accordance with Air Force records requirements.
Applies to: It applies to all Edwards Air Force Base units, AFRC units under Edwards AFB OPCON, and Edwards AFB gained units and personnel conducting flying operations.
Instructor pilots will not teach STOVL operations until a STOVL instructor training plan or AOQ from an equivalent source (e.g. USMC) is completed. (paragraph 8)
“Non-STOVL” instructor pilots may teach emergency STOVL procedures to pilots training on the F-35B but not conducting routine STOVL operations. (paragraph 8)
With Unit CC approval, minimum altitudes may be reduced to 50’ AHO when training or testing necessities exist. (paragraph 8)
Formation is optional for initial qualification. (paragraph 8)
No additional open or closed book testing is required for any F-15 conversion. (paragraph 8)
