AFJQS_L3/3LE governs minimum training requirements for certified law enforcement officers and the L3/3LE Special Experience Identifier.

It covers task qualification, training documentation, additional duties or tasks, and recertification for Security Forces law enforcement duties. It requires GO/NO GO qualification, certified instruction, third-party certification, and documented training.
Applies to: This AFJQS applies to both military and civilian personnel assigned to perform duties as LE patrol, trainers, and program managers/planners.
Personnel will be qualified to the GO/NO GO standard on tasks specified in Part II. (paragraph 2)
Initial training for items in Part II marked with a single asterisk “*” in the critical column of the AFJQS must be received through inresidence training at a DoD POST accredited training program. (paragraph 2)
Annual and in-service training listed in Part II of this AFJQS must be taught by certified LE instructors and may be delivered through on-the-job training, inresidence, distance learning (DL), or web-based courses. (paragraph 2)
All tasks identified on this AFJQS require Field Training Officer (FTO) or QLEO member third party certification for the trainee to be considered certified. (paragraph 3)
If a LE member is assigned an additional duty or task not listed in this AFJQS, the supervisor will develop an DAF Form 797, Job Qualification Standard Continuation/Command JQS. (paragraph 4)
