AFI84-104 governs requirements and procedures for the Air Force Art Program, Air Force Art Collection, and other works of art.

It addresses acquiring, accessioning, controlling, valuing, displaying, storing, reproducing, transporting, shipping, and deaccessioning artwork. It also provides guidance for reports of survey and includes loan, training, and trip report materials.
Applies to: This applies to all Air Force activities, to include the Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard.
Air Force organizations may accept donations of original artwork not registered as part of the Air Force Art Collection.
Artwork and reproductions purchased commercially, such as those used for interior decoration, are not controlled by the Art Program, nor regulated by this instruction.
Excess artwork and reproductions purchased commercially will be disposed of through Defense Logistics Agency Disposition Services.
Air Force employees may not receive Art Program-accessioned artwork as gifts.
The mission of the Air Force Art Program is to preserve a visual record of Airmen and the Air Force experience in operations, events, and other activities; and to make it available to the broadest audience possible.
