It outlines travel-clearance procedures for overseas and stateside PCS assignments involving family members with special needs. It establishes guidance for identifying special needs and required medical or educational services, and requires protected-document handling and records management.
Applies to: This instruction applies to all military and civilian personnel and their family members entitled to receive medical care in MTFs as specified in AFI 41-210, TRICARE Operations and Patient Administration Functions.
EFMP-M encompasses the medical and educational review functions that support accompanied military assignments, the EFMP and Department of Defense’s Educational and Developmental Intervention Services (EDIS).
