AFI40-701 describes responsibilities across Military Treatment Facilities, the Air Force Personnel Center, and other agencies involved in the EFMP process. It covers medical and educational reviews, protected health care information, supplements, waivers, and records created under its processes.
Applies to: This instruction applies to all military and civilian personnel and their family members entitled to receive medical care in MTFs as specified in AFI 41-210, TRICARE Operations and Patient Administration Functions.
EFMP-M encompasses the medical and educational review functions that support accompanied military assignments, the EFMP and Department of Defense’s Educational and Developmental Intervention Services (EDIS).
Family members of Reserve Component members who are on Active Duty for more than 30 days may be eligible for supportive services upon request. (paragraph 41-210)
