The publication addresses DUSTWUN and EAWUN reporting, casualty reports, casualty assistance, emergency family member travel, and notifications. It also establishes requirements for reporting missing, deceased, injured, and medically evacuated personnel, including applicable Air Force and Space Force members.
Applies to: It applies to all units assigned, attached, and partner units to Wright Patterson AFB as well as all active-duty, retired personnel, Department of Defense (DoD)/Civilian/Non-Appropriated Fund employees and US Space Force.
DUSTWUN is applicable to military members only. EAWUN is the DoD civilian and contractor equivalent and only reportable if occurred in a theater of combat operations or a hostile casualty. (paragraph 5-59)
Casualty reports are required for personnel medically evacuated out of designated combat zone, hostile fire or imminent danger pay areas for further treatment or evaluation, or as a result of a hostile fire event regardless of location if the member is a loss to the unit. (paragraph 6)
Casualty reports are required when Emergency Family Member Travel (EFMT) authority is requested and approved. (paragraph 7)
Casualty services will be provided for all Air Force and Space Force inmates who are incarcerated in a military or civilian institution and who are still members, including those on Appellate Leave status, of the Air Force or Space Force. (paragraph 8)
Casualty assistance is not provided to NOK of deserters. (paragraph 1-3)
