What must the Command Post do when an active duty casualty occurs?

Will immediately notify the CAR, in accordance with appointment letter on file, when an active duty casualty occurs and the member is assigned to either Joint Base Andrews, Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, or the Pentagon, or as directed by AFPC/DPFCS Casualty Branch when next of kin (NOK) is in the assigned casualty area.

Who should be contacted if the on-call CAR cannot be reached during non-duty hours?

During non-duty hours, if the on-call CAR cannot be reached, contact the 11 FSS or 811 FSS Commander.

Where does the CAST set up during multiple casualties?

In the event of multiple casualties, the CAST will set up in building 1414 to provide assistance to the CAR.

What must unit commanders do when a casualty is assigned to their unit?

Ensures the 11 WG Command Post (301) 981-5058 or DSN 858-5058 is immediately notified of all casualties who are assigned to the unit.

When may a unit commander perform casualty notification to next of kin?

Performs casualty notification to NOK only after coordinating with the CAR.
