It covers disposal categories, temporary interests, environmental requirements, government-use screening, congressional notification, and disposal requirements. It establishes disposal procedures, approval processes, tier waiver authority, and recordkeeping requirements.
Applies to: This Instruction applies to all Air Force including the Air National Guard (ANG) and Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC) units.
Do not apply this instruction to industrial facilities, storage contracts, contractor-owned garages for maintaining Government vehicles or Base Closure and Realignment property.
The authorities to waive requesting wing/unit/direct reporting unit/field operating agency level requirements in this publication are identified with a Tier (“T-0, T-1, T-2, T-3”) number following the compliance statement.
Submit requests for waivers through the chain of command to the appropriate Tier waiver approval authority, or alternately, to the Publication Office of Primary Responsibility for non-tiered compliance items.
Ensure that all records created as a result of processes prescribed in this publication are maintained in accordance with Air Force Manual 33-363, Management of Records, and disposed of in accordance with the Air Force Records Disposition Schedule in the Air Force Records Information Management System.
