The publication implements Air Force and Department of Defense traffic safety guidance and enforces the Texas Rules of the Road on Laughlin AFB. It establishes traffic points, driving restrictions, vehicle safety requirements, accident reporting, and rules for radar detection devices.
Applies to: This publication applies to any person coming on to the installation.
The accumulation of 12 points within 12 consecutive months or 18 points within 24 consecutive months may result in suspension/revocation of base driving privileges for a period of up to 1 year.
Littering is prohibited; no person will dispose trash on a roadway, parking lot, or any other area not designated for waste disposal.
Restraint systems (seatbelt) will be worn by all vehicle occupants (unless medically waived for safety reasons).
The use of radars or laser detection devices are prohibited on Laughlin AFB.
All military members and on-duty federal employees involved in an accident that results in damage to military property shall inform Security Forces and their respective Unit Safety Representative, regardless of whether the incident occurred on or off the installation.
