It establishes supervision structures involving the Operations Group Commander, Supervisor of Flying, and squadron supervisors. It also addresses minimum supervision, emergency recovery, unit supplements, ANG/AFR provisions, and waivers.
Applies to: This publication applies to all aircrew assigned or attached to the 18th Wing (18 WG).
The SOF and Ops Sup may leave the unit operations complex (as defined by the unit supplement to this instruction) after aircraft depart the local area, workload permitting. (paragraph 4)
When outside the unit operations complex, the SOF and Ops Sup must be immediately available by telephone, pager, radio or intercom. (T-3). (paragraph 4)
The SOF and Ops Sup should normally be at their duty locations 45 minutes prior to the estimated time of arrival of unit aircraft. (paragraph 4)
The final decision during any IFE/abnormal situation rests with the aircraft commander. (paragraph 4)
If the SOF determines an emergency should be declared, and the pilot has not declared, the SOF will declare an emergency and advise the pilot. (paragraph 4)
