Applies to: This publication applies to Air Combat Command (ACC) Regular Air Force, civilians, contractors, and ACC assigned AFR, and Air National Guard members.
OPSEC is an information-related capability that preserves friendly essential secrecy by using a process to identify, control and protect critical information and indicators.
Commanders and directors are responsible for identifying and managing signatures associated with Air Force activities, capabilities, operations, and programs.
OPSEC supports planning, preparation, execution and post execution phases of all activities, operations and programs across the entire spectrum of military operations.
OPSEC is a commander’s/director’s responsibility and is established, managed and implemented at all levels throughout the AF.
Ensure that all records created as a result of processes prescribed in this publication are maintained in accordance with Air Force Manual (AFMAN) 33-363, Management of Records and disposed of in accordance with Air Force Records Information Management System (AFRIMS) Records Disposition Schedule (RDS).
