It addresses mobilization requirements, prerequisites, authorities, voluntary activation, and changes in mobilization or activation authority. It assigns responsibilities and requires compliance with applicable statutes, waiver procedures, supplements, and records requirements.
Applies to: This guidance applies to the Regular Air Force, the Air National Guard of the United States, the Air National Guard while in service of the United States (but not as a militia), and the United States Air Force Reserve.
Exception to this policy must be approved by AF/A3.
Supplements must follow guidance outlined in Air Force Instruction 33-360.
Ensure all records created as a result of processes prescribed in this publication are maintained in accordance with Air Force Manual 33-363, Management of Records, and disposed of in accordance with the Air Force Records Disposition Schedule in the Air Force Records Information Management System.
