It addresses operational training concepts, training system responsibilities and management, planning, reporting, and operational training and undergraduate aircrew training systems. It requires compliance with tiered requirements and sets processes for waiver requests, records disposition, and reporting on training systems.
Applies to: This publication applies to all civilian employees and uniformed members of the Regular Air Force, the Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC), the Air National Guard (ANG), and those with a contractual obligation to abide by the terms of United States Air Force (USAF) issuances.
Conflicts between this instruction and Joint Program Office (JPO) direction will be reconciled by the F-35 Integration Office (AF/IO), Air Combat Command (Lead Command), and the JPO.
The authorities to waive wing, unit, delta, or garrison level requirements in this publication are identified with a Tier number (“T-0, T-1, T- 2, T-3”) following the compliance statement.
Submit requests for waivers through the chain of command to the appropriate Tier waiver approval authority, or alternately, through the chain of command to the publication office of primary responsibility for non-tiered compliance items.
Ensure all records generated as a result of processes prescribed in this publication adhere to Air Force Instruction (AFI) 33-322, Records Management and Information Governance Program, and are disposed in accordance with (IAW) the Air Force Records Disposition Schedule, which is located in the Air Force Records Information Management System.
