It addresses strategic deterrence operations, command relationships, operational planning, nuclear and non-nuclear capability integration, and continuity of operations. Compliance is mandatory, and records generated as a result of processes prescribed in the publication must adhere to AFI 33-322 and the Air Force Records Disposition Schedule.
The GSOC (AFSTRAT) conducts indefinite strategic deterrence operations; on order, neutralizes the enemy through global strike in order to protect the United States of America. (paragraph 1)
GSOC (AFSTRAT), hereafter simply referred to as GSOC, is a Center and Named Component Headquarters assigned as a Direct Reporting Unit to Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC). (paragraph 2)
Provide Direct Support to the USSTRATCOM Joint Forces Air Component Commander (JFACC) as the center commander supporting JFACC mission accomplishment, including command and control (C2) of forces assigned, attached, or made available to the JFACC for tasking or control. (paragraph 13-103)
Track, monitor, and report the status of Survivable Mobile Command Center alert assets, Rebound Echo and Reflex Delta alert bases, alert tankers, bomber forces, ICBM forces, and nuclear command, control, and communications systems. (paragraph 3)
Conduct contingency and crisis planning for the integration of nuclear and non-nuclear capabilities in support of USSTRATCOM and other Combatant Commanders. (paragraph 3)
