Applies to: This publication applies to all Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) civilian employees and uniformed members of the Regular Air Force, the Air Force Reserve, the Air National Guard, and those who are contractually obligated to comply with Department of the Air Force publications.
LMV Operations as referenced in this instruction include the on- or off-base operation of the payload transporter (PT), payload transporter replacement (PTR), transporter erector (TE), or transporter erector replacement program (TERP) whether they are loaded or not. (paragraph 6-7)
A safety observer must be in the vehicle during LMV operations to provide safety oversight. (paragraph 6-7)
LMV operation routes of travel shall be conducted on pre-approved defense access road (DAR) routes only.
Personnel with current TERP certification who were previously certified on the TE do not require additional training when recertifying on the TE.
At the completion of training and licensing, QA will perform a road evaluation of all LMV operators IAW paragraph 4.1. QA evaluations will be documented using AFGSC Form 67.
