It covers initial qualification, mission qualification, continuation, specialized, and flying training requirements. It requires pilots to maintain or regain applicable currencies, with supervised status or additional training when currency requirements are not met.
Applies to: This publication applies to all uniformed members of the Regular Air Force and Air Force Reserve, and to federal civilian employees flying USAF sailplanes.
Pilots will only credit completion of flying training requirements or update currencies when they complete sorties, events, and currency items in accordance with Attachment 2. (paragraph 2)
Any pilot not meeting currency requirements will not perform the sortie or event except under the supervision of an IP. (paragraph 2)
Pilots regain currency by demonstrating proficiency in the currency event with a current IP according to Attachment 2. (paragraph 3)
For non-current 1 to 30 days, regain takeoff or landing currency by accomplishing a takeoff and landing under the supervision of a current IP. (paragraph 2)
For non-current 31 to 90 days, regain takeoff or landing currency by accomplishing 2 takeoffs and 2 landings under the supervision of a current IP, and an IP-supervised normal and emergency procedures review session (SEPT). (paragraph 2)
