How often must CSIs and SIs complete an instructional sortie?

All CSIs/SIs must accomplish an instructional sortie every 60 days, and must instruct in each category of training every 120 days to remain current.

CSIs/SIs may update instructional category currency anytime a student mission or ID sortie (including BSI sorties) in that category is accomplished from the cockpit or IOS.

What must noncurrent instructors do before instructing in a non-current category?

Noncurrent instructors must regain currency before instructing in any non-current category.

How can a noncurrent CSI or SI regain category currency?

To regain category currency, the non-current CSI/SI will instruct from the IOS while being monitored by a current and qualified simulator instructor in that category or complete an ID sortie with a current and qualified simulator instructor which focuses on maneuvers in the non-current category of training.

How are simulator instructor evaluations conducted?

Conduct all simulator instructor evaluations in accordance with the provisions of this instruction and accomplish on actual student instructional missions whenever possible.
