939ARWI36-807 establishes policy and procedures for implementing and maintaining the alternate work schedule program. It addresses schedule requests, tours of duty, premium pay, and absence and leave.
Applies to: The 5/4-9 Compressed Work Schedule Program, an alternate work schedule (AWS), applies to all 939th Air Refueling Wing (939 ARW) organizations and its civilian employees.
The following factors will be continuously monitored in assessing whether to maintain an AWS; efficiency and productivity, impact on morale, tardiness and turnover rates, job opportunities for working spouses/parents, car pools, use of mass transportation, and utility consumption. (paragraph 1)
Supervisors will determine the minimum numbers and kinds of employees required for any given tour of duty, and may restrict an employee's choice of AWS “off day” during the pay period. (paragraph 1)
The number of hours, excluding overtime hours which an employee is required to work or to account for by leave or otherwise is 80 hours bi-weekly. (paragraph 2)
The request must be submitted no later than the Wednesday prior to the beginning of the pay period affected. (paragraph 1)
At the minimum, an employee must take a thirty minute lunch period. (paragraph 1)
