Applies to: This instruction applies to all base, wing, tenant personnel as well as all eligible passengers as specified in DoD Instruction 4515.13, Air Transportation Eligibility.
Space-A travel is a privilege (not an entitlement) that accrues to uniformed service members as an avenue of respite from the rigors of Uniformed Services duty and is a byproduct of DoD primary missions. (paragraph 1)
DoD aircraft shall not be scheduled to accommodate Space-A passengers. (paragraph 1)
Reservations will not be made for any Space-A passenger. (paragraph 2)
There is no guaranteed space for space available travel. (paragraph 2)
Passengers are authorized two pieces of checked baggage not to exceed 62 linear inches and a combined weight of 140 pounds of baggage (not to exceed 70 pounds per bag). (paragraph 2)
